Live Music Generative Visuals
It isn't often you can something as fun as visualizing music.
Who doesn't love music, I know I do. So when I got the opportunity to create visuals from live music, I jumped on it. I collaborated with an extremely talented saxophone player for this project. It was fun, rewarding and a great experience overall.
Me and John the sax guy, worked together very closely. In the early stages I had vision of floating in space, with particles all around reacting to the music. Over the course of experimentation I found a way to combine particle physics with reactive input from the microphone. From there I just kept improving and perfecting it until I reached a point where the visuals weren't just interesting, but also fun to interact with as a musician.
So over the course of two months we created this experience, becoming friends in the process. It was quite a challenge, but I'm not known to shy away from those. It really redefined my programming skill set, something I benefit from every day. To this day, it has been one of the most interesting, fun, challenging and rewarding things I have ever done.
