Minecraft Code Skin Maker
How do you teach programming to kids? Minecraft.
Programming is something that is very dear to my heart. So naturally I want to share that love. And seeing as programming is form of language, you can't start too early enough. So I set out to teach coding and programming to kids. Luckily I am a bit of a kid myself. That part of my nature gave me the key to teaching coding, Minecraft.
If you're like me, you have a bunch of examples of information you we're taught in school, of which you can't remember a thing. And usually that is due to the fact that it didn't interest you at the time. Often enough you end up regretting that later in life. And it's not due to the fact that it was just hard stuff or actually uninteresting material, but due to the fact that it wasn't presented to you in an interesting way. That's why I use Minecraft to teach. You don't have to do much to get a kid's attention when you drop the name Minecraft.
My method, which has been tested to be effective, applies programming in a familiar and fun environment for kids. Every step of the way they see what you can do with code in fun examples. And it culminates in the Skin Maker. My very own concept and creation. With programming you can make a Minecraft skin that you can then download and use. What more motivation does a child need to learn. Doesn't everyone love making something useful and good looking?
